hova da god and mos def

Jay-Z has recently replaced Busta Rhymes as my all time favorite rapper. Hova da god for reals. I have every intention to see Fade to Black if for no other reason than to see Beyonce shake her jelly at Hova at MSG (that's madison square garden...not monosodium glutamate). H to the Izzo. If you don't have The Black Album or Jay-Z MTV Unplugged, don't tell a soul under penalty of death by embarrassment and go out and buy it immediately. I'm so sincere.

If you want intellectual rap with a punch of rock, get Mos Def's New Danger (actually don't tell anyone you don't own that either and just go out and buy it). "The Rape Over" is pure genius. Here are some lyrics: "Old white men is runnin this rap shit/ corporate forces is running this rap shit....MTV is running this rap shit, Viacomm is running this rap shit, AOL and Time Warner running this rap shit." He gets to the heart of all evil: concentrated corporate media ownership. And you thought rap was all about sex and bling.
